the tracks
Argentine tango has many styles of embrace but all of them can be generalized into 3 types: OPEN, CLOSE or the combination of both (FLUID). Although the embraces share some fundamental techniques, they also each have unique nuances that call for their own separate tracks.
the levels
The levels are partitioned according to:
1) the level of difficulty of the material
2) mastery of the music, movement technique and connection.
Each level consists of 3 series. As a whole, the material covered in the program is considered essential for a well-rounded dancer. In each class, you will learn good technique, musicianship, comfy connection, navigation, and fun things to do on the dance floor.
The techniques used in the upper levels are derived from techniques presented in the preceding levels.
starting
Since you are currently taking my Intermediate class, you can take any 200 level classes being offered.
If you have already taken several intermediate classes with me and wish to take a 300 level class, you must have a scheduled assessment session with me. An assessment is a 10-15 minute dance time that will determine whether or not you know the materials of the class or level you wish to skip.
progressing
To progress to the next level, you must meet the prerequisites of the level that you wish to take.
Anyone can retake the level 100 class level for free as many times as desired.
Exceptions are welcome with a scheduled assessment.
